Thus, estimates indicate that there will be a doubling of the present sales by 2011. Such statistics have in fact given a new direction to the growth of the organic food market since more and more food producers have taken up these lines of production trying to capitalize on them. Consumers, on the other hand, are determined to read ORGANIC on labels and thus stay away from the pesticides, the genetically modified organisms, the hormones and the antibiotics in conventional food.
